The spo sent out a daily email reminding students to take the survey. An incentive was offered to every student who brought their thank you Page of the survey to the spo office. For those that did they were able to choose from three $5.00 gift cards to a fast-food restaurant. The career pathways director also encouraged the instructors to give the students 5 mins each morning to complete the survey. We did not reach the goal however we did much better than previous surveys. We are thinking of new and creative ways to reach the goal on the next survey.
I have used promotional activities in the past leading up to the SEA such as bags of goodies with the SEA announcement flier attached to them to remind the students the SEA was coming up. This time I did an incentive the week before to see how many students check their email and responded to me. Nothing about the SEA was mentioned in this email, it was to see how many students check their email regularly.
We promoted the SEA with emails, at dorm meetings, in the classroom and in the center business meeting. The center offered a $5.00 dollar incentive for all students who completed the survey as well as an ice cream social if the center meet the Target completion percentage.
Monetary incentive for all that took the survey – drawing for the first two days of survey taken – once hit 80% rate; Pizza party for all centers.
Promotional fliers posted in all departments, seasalt chocolate bars on students’ beds for reminders, pizza incentive for center for 80% participation.
