  • We provide treats and rewards for students who complete their surveys. We also do different rewards for center-wide participation.
  • The center utilizes all promotional materials available on the SEA site. Posters are placed around center as a constant reminder for our students. Constant communication, students hear about the SEA in their dorms, education classes, trade classes, recreation, etc. Students are encouraged to take SEA to make a difference. They know this is their voice. Incentives for participation. We have a drawing for gift cards for any student who takes the survey. Staff buy-in! That’s the biggest help, meeting with staff to make sure they buy-in. During the week of the survey we create a schedule for all classes to utilize the computer lab so students can have the opportunity to take the survey. Instructors walk their classes to the lab at their designated time. The schedule repeats once everyone has gone. This way every student has an opportunity.
  • We gave students a candy bag to those students that completed survey. Those students were also entered a raffle for a chance to win one of three gift baskets. Once a student completed survey and picked up candy bag we would highlight their name, this would show which students were pending to complete survey. Counselors would send student reminders to encourage all to open and complete survey. Instructors allowed students the first 15 minutes of class to check their emails for survey.
  • We encouraged students to report to a set room to take the survey so they would have privacy and a student proctor monitored the class. Each student who participated was given 20 success points to use in the incentive store at their leisure and the entire student body was awarded the opportunity to utilize door dash on the weekends.
  • Pizza Party. Students Completed Survey First Period, And After Training Day In The Dorms.
  • Students were awarded with treats, and extended recreation time.
  • Encouraging competition to be the highest participating center in the region. Also providing incentives such as a center cookout and activities for reaching 80% or above participation.
  • Use of SEA posters posted around center as well as loaded onto TV monitors hanging in various buildings on center to announce survey dates. We announce the survey dates to students at town hall meetings, as well as share feedback reports with them when they are available. All instructors announce in their classrooms when the survey is available and allow time each day of the survey for students to log onto their accounts to take the survey. In addition, the SPO offers merit points that students can use in the SPO store. Students show the SPO their “thank you” e-mail and can redeem the points for items in the store (Snack goodies, hygiene products, cards, notebooks, etc.). There are points for taking the survey (50 points) And then different bonus points associated with the day the survey was taken (another 50 points for taking on 1st day, 45 points, for on 2nd day, etc.)
  • Our center utilized everyone on center to talk to students and remind them about the importance of completing the survey. The survey was discussed in student business meetings, academic and trade classes, and residential during the roll call hour. Once students completed the survey, they would bring their confirmation email to the poc and their Name was entered in a raffle. Students understood that their completion of the survey was an opportunity for us to look at and review their concern based on their feedback. The bottom line is that we created an atmosphere of buy-in that is mutually beneficial.
  • Regular meeting and email updates on the survey time window and completion rate. Having student leaders and instructors assist students with logging in to their job corps email to access the survey.
  • Ice cream party.
  • Reward parties, merit points, snacks.
  • Center staff went to each classroom and trade area to allow students a Chance to take the survey and to receive assistance in logging in. All students received a cupcake or cookie for logging into the survey. Our college students met with the counselors off site to complete the survey, receiving an additional incentive for completion. We tracked all student participation on a Google sheet that gave us daily percentages and allowed us to see who was still outstanding.
  • We made it a center-wide event, staff informed students about the survey, times and locations were set aside for individuals who wanted to complete the survey. We also had survey parties with pizza and snacks for the students.
  • We have incentivized the percentage goal with pizza or a movie. If 100% is achieved, then they usually get both.
  • Set aside time for the students during the training day to complete the survey. Had a raffle for everyone who completed it.
